Calif. Beer Heists Drain $70K of Pabst; Police Probe Linked Caper
Two thefts at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in Montclair, Calif., on Aug. 17 drained about 40,000 pounds (roughly 34,000 cans) of Pabst Blue Ribbon and non-alcoholic Old Milwaukee beer, worth about $70,000. One haul was $45,000 worth destined for Tucson; a second $25,000 batch was allegedly claimed with fake documents. Police are investigating whether the incidents are connected, while Pabst has leaned into the caper with a lighthearted social-media promo.
