North Carolina Illustrator Fatally Shot During Mar-a-Lago Encounter
Austin Tucker Martin, a 21-year-old artist from Cameron, North Carolina, was fatally shot by law enforcement after authorities said he pointed a shotgun at officers during an encounter on the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach. He died about 700 miles from his home; his family had reported him missing in the early hours of Sunday, and federal investigators later joined the Florida case. Martin, who ran Fresh Sky Illustrations and had a limited online presence, lived with his parents and brother in Moore County. Little else is publicly known about him beyond his art and the death of his sister Caitlin in 2023.
