
Markey Extends Lead in Massachusetts Senate Primary, Poll Finds
A UMass Amherst/WCVB poll of 800 registered voters (445 Democratic primary voters) shows Sen. Ed Markey leading Rep. Seth Moulton 60% to 32% among likely Democratic primary voters in Massachusetts, a sizable swing since July. Markey is viewed as more liberal, experienced and trustworthy, while Moulton is perceived as a younger, more energetic challenger. The survey margins are 4.4% overall and 5.8% among Democrats, with a final debate and Sept. 1 primary on the horizon and early voting beginning Aug. 22.
