Fatal fall on Castle Peak near Aspen ends climber's ascent
A climber died after a fall on Castle Peak’s north face near Aspen. Mountain Rescue Aspen, aided by a Flight for Life helicopter, located and recovered the body using a technical lowering system, with 21 rescuers involved. The climber’s identity has not been released. The incident comes after a fatality on nearby Maroon Bells last week, which prompted area closures for recovery.
