India's weight in MSCI's Global Standard index has reached an all-time high of 18.2%, narrowing the gap with China, whose weight fell to 25.4% after the latest revision. The convergence of weights between Indian and Chinese stocks has intensified, with India's gain attributed to a sustained equity rally and relative underperformance of other emerging markets, especially China. The revisions will come into effect after market close on Feb. 29, potentially leading to inflows of about $1.2 billion for India. MSCI added five Indian stocks to its Global Standard index and did not remove any, while 66 Chinese stocks were removed.
