IDF strikes kill Hamas finance chief and hostage commander in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the elimination of two senior Hamas figures in recent strikes: Muhammad Abu Alwan, the group’s finance chief, and Mahmoud Abd al-Fattah Awad, a commander who held seven Israeli hostages. While Abu Alwan was killed in Khan Yunis on Wednesday, Awad was struck in Gaza City over the weekend. Israeli officials stated that these operations aim to dismantle Hamas’s financial infrastructure and prevent the group from rebuilding its military capabilities in violation of the current ceasefire.
