Vice President Kamala Harris is set to promote a Biden administration initiative aimed at providing training and assistance to implement laws keeping guns away from individuals deemed a threat. The program, known as the National Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) Resource Center, has drawn criticism from Republicans who view it as a violation of Second Amendment rights. The initiative will offer resources to law enforcement, prosecutors, attorneys, judges, clinicians, victim service providers, and others to temporarily prohibit individuals at risk of harming themselves or others from purchasing and possessing firearms. The DOJ's move has sparked backlash from House Republicans, including Reps. Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene, who have condemned the effort as a "Federal Red Flag center."
