CBS is shortening episode counts for Fire Country (13-episode Season 5) as well as NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney for the 2026–27 slate, with Matlock Season 3 returning midseason; Ghosts remains on a full-season order. The network is also planning new series (Cupertino, NCIS: New York, Eternally Yours) and shuffling primetime, including a notable showrunner departure from Fire Country.
CBS has renewed the NCIS franchise: NCIS for Season 24, NCIS: Origins for Season 3, and NCIS: Sydney for Season 4, as part of a broader renewal day that also includes Tracker, Elsbeth, Matlock, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Survivor and The Amazing Race.
CBS has released a trailer for the upcoming series "NCIS: Sydney," which will air on CBS starting November 13. The show follows a multi-national task force comprised of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) as they tackle naval crimes in the Indo-Pacific region. The series features familiar NCIS elements along with iconic Australian scenery, and stars Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey and Todd Lasance as AFP counterpart Sergeant Jim "JD" Dempsey. "NCIS: Sydney" is a local international co-production produced by Endemol Shine Australia for CBS Studios and Paramount Australia.
