Pogačar Hospitalized After Vuelta Crash; Season Hangs in the Balance
Tadej Pogačar was taken to a Barcelona hospital after crashing in the Vuelta a España, suffering a concussion and a neck fracture with a broken collarbone; surgery on the collarbone will be delayed until he recovers from the concussion, casting doubt on whether he’ll race again this season. The crash ended his Vuelta bid, with Enric Mas taking the lead and Primož Roglič close behind, while the exact cause remains unclear. Pogačar posted a hospital selfie, and his team has not yet confirmed a return date for the season or any planned campaigns such as Worlds or Il Lombardia.
