Ukrainian counteroffensive liberates villages from Russian forces.
Ukrainian forces have made modest gains in their counteroffensive against Russian forces, liberating seven settlements in the south and eastern regions of Ukraine, including the village of Neskuchne. Journalists were given access to the village, which had been heavily damaged, to confirm the Ukrainian flag now flies over it. Russia has not acknowledged any Ukrainian gains, and President Putin said he sees no need for a new mobilization of fighting men to confront the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
