"New York Attorney General Investigates AT&T Nationwide Outage"
New York Attorney General Letitia James is investigating the nationwide AT&T network service outage that occurred on Feb. 22, 2024, leaving tens of thousands of customers without calling or data capabilities for up to 12 hours. The outage, which affected more than 71,000 customers, prompted concerns about public safety as many were unable to call 911. AT&T attributed the outage to a process error and not a cyberattack, and the Federal Communications Commission is also investigating the incident.
