Gann Fire triggers evacuations near New Hogan Lake
Evacuation orders were issued for zones CCU-147, CCU-139, CCU-110 and CCU-109, with an advisory for CCU-130, as the Gann Fire near Hogan Dam/Gann Road at New Hogan Lake grew to about 2,100 acres. Evacuation centers are open in Valley Springs (Jenny Lind Memorial District) and Angels Camp for livestock, with additional shelter for domesticated animals. A firefighter was injured in a dozer rollover and a fire engine crash blocked a road. Calaveras Unified School District will keep schools open with precautions while crews monitor conditions.
