NHTSA widens GM brake‑assist probe to 1.16 million vehicles tied to eBoost
NHTSA’s ODI expands its investigation into General Motors’ eBoost braking system to about 1.164 million vehicles built for 2023–2026, including Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Buick Enclave/Envision, Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse, Acadia, Celestiq/Optiq, plus 2024–2026 Acura ZDX and 2024–2026 Honda Prologue; the agency has logged 745 incidents, 22 crashes/fires and 5 injuries. GM says the issue involves spindle fractures in the eBoost system that can trigger a Brake System alert while ABS/ESC remain functional until the vehicle stops; ODI has moved the probe to an engineering analysis to define its scope.
