
Smart ring taps sweat to non-invasively monitor glucose and more
UC San Diego engineers unveil a prototype smart ring that analyzes finger sweat to continuously monitor glucose and other biomarkers (ketones, vitamin C, uric acid, lactate, alcohol). The device could enable non-invasive diabetes management with accuracy comparable to invasive CGMs, but the prototype is bulky with about a 12-hour battery; future versions could improve on form and power, with data streamed to a paired iPhone app.
