CT man’s ear infection spiraled into fatal brain abscess, family sues health systems
A Connecticut man died after an ear infection spread to his skull and brain, leading to a brain abscess. His family filed a medical-negligence lawsuit against Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care—Norwalk, Norwalk Hospital, and Nuvance Health, alleging failure to promptly diagnose the infection’s spread and to provide an adequate workup and treatment. The suit cites the Aug. 30, 2025 visit for an earache, subsequent hospitalizations, a CT showing brain abscess, and the fatal outcome, with autopsy supporting the infection as the cause of death.
