Sinner Clinches Italian Open, Joins Djokovic in Masters 1000 Sweep
Jannik Sinner defeated Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-4 to win the Italian Open, the first Italian man to win the tournament in 50 years (Adriano Panatta). The victory also makes Sinner the second player ever to win all nine Masters 1000 events, a feat first achieved by Novak Djokovic. Sinner rides a 29-match win streak and is 17-0 on clay this year ahead of Roland Garros, as Ruud offered resistance but Sinner controlled the match with his serve.
