Greenland's New Airport Set to Boost Tourism and Economy
Greenland is becoming more accessible with the opening of a new international airport in Nuuk on November 28, featuring a 2,200-meter runway that will accommodate larger planes. United Airlines will offer nonstop seasonal flights from Newark, New Jersey, starting in June, reducing travel time to just over four hours. The airport is expected to boost tourism and the economy, with Air Greenland operating flights to Copenhagen and Reykjavik. Two additional airports are planned for 2026, further enhancing connectivity in the region.
