Anonymous Donor Gives NYPL Performing Arts Library $60M for Digitization
The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has received a $60 million anonymous donation, its largest ever, to digitize and preserve its 15 million-item archive. The funds will prioritize saving fragile materials like Sondheim set models and rare recordings, though filmed Broadway shows will not be digitized due to rights issues.
