A police officer in northern Virginia has been fired after fatally shooting a man who allegedly stole two pairs of sunglasses from a shopping mall. The police chief released body camera footage of the incident, which showed the officer firing the fatal shot into the man's chest. The officer who was fired, Sgt. Wesley Shifflett, has said he will appeal his dismissal. The video also showed Johnson taking two pairs of sunglasses from a Nordstrom department store. Johnson's family has called his death "an execution by a Fairfax County police officer."
