Energy PAC bets big in last-week bid to unseat Ogles in tight TN primary
An energy-focused super PAC, Invest in Tomorrow Coalition, is putting an additional $700,000 into the final week of Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles' GOP primary to back challenger Charlie Hatcher, raising its total spend to about $2 million after already spending roughly $1.3 million. A late poll shows Ogles leading Hatcher by four points (37% to 33%) among likely Republican voters. Hatcher is backed by notable Republicans and benefits from Tennessee’s updated district boundaries. Ogles—who has faced ethics investigations and a DOJ probe in the past—still rides incumbency and Trump backing, making the primary contest highly competitive as the race heads to the finish line.
