Backstage Knife Allegation Emerges in Drakeo Case
During a March 2025 deposition, a former Drakeo the Ruler security guard testified that YG, masked and flanked by others, produced a short knife during the Dec. 18, 2021 backstage brawl at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival, where Drakeo was fatally stabbed. YG denies involvement; police briefly detained him during a Burbank property search but released him, and no arrests have been made as the murder investigation continues. Drakeo’s family has also filed a civil suit against festival organizers and security contractors.
