Chuck Negron, co-founder and lead singer of Three Dog Night, died at 83 at his Studio City home after decades-long COPD; he helped the band reach peak fame with hits like One and Joy to the World but battled heroin addiction that led to years on Skid Row and multiple rehab stints as the group split in 1976, reformed in 1982, and finally broke up again in 1985; Negron later pursued a solo career and published a memoir, Cory Wells died in 2015, and Danny Hutton still tours with Three Dog Night, with Negron and Hutton reportedly burying the hatchet last year.
