Wildfires Ravage Over 400 Acres in New York State.
More than 400 acres of land have been burned by nearly twenty wildfires across New York State this spring, with the majority caused by open burning. The dryness of the ground and wind have contributed to the spread of the fires, with state forest rangers and firefighters working to contain them. Governor Hochul has encouraged New Yorkers to stay vigilant and thank first responders for their efforts. A ban on residential burning is currently in place until May 14th.
