Airline Threatens Jail and Foster Care for Parents Refusing to Give Up Paid Seat for Toddler
A family was threatened with jail time and the removal of their children from their custody by Delta Airlines after refusing to give up the seat they had paid for their toddler on an overbooked flight. The incident, which occurred in April 2017, was captured on video by the mother. The family was eventually kicked off the flight and not given a refund. Delta Airlines later apologized and offered a refund and additional compensation to the family.
