P2B001, an investigational combination therapy for Parkinson's disease, was found to be similar to Mirapex in controlling symptoms but with fewer side effects, including sleepiness and orthostatic hypotension, according to a clinical trial presented at the American Academy of Neurology annual meeting. P2B001 contains a fixed-dose combination of two medications in extended release form, pramipexole and rasagiline, both of which are approved individually to manage Parkinson's symptoms. Pharma Two B, the developer of P2B001, plans to apply for approval in the US this year based on the data.
