Painted Tree Boutiques, a nationwide multi-vendor retail concept with more than 60 locations, abruptly ceased all operations, including the Tyler store at Village at Cumberland Park. In a letter to shop owners, the company ordered vendors to immediately retrieve their merchandise between April 14 and April 24, with stores open to vendor renters only for retrieval and no public access. No official reason was given, though unverified reports have circulated that Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be involved. The Tyler location opened in December 2024 and housed more than 300 small businesses.
