'Paramount Prevails: 'Top Gun: Maverick' Copyright Lawsuit Dismissed'

Paramount Studios successfully defended against a copyright lawsuit filed by the family of Ehud Yonay, whose 1983 magazine article inspired the original "Top Gun" film. 'Mean Girls' Author Considers Legal Action Against Tina Fey and Paramount Over Unpaid Compensation.

Rosalind Wiseman, the author of the book that inspired the 2004 hit movie Mean Girls, is considering legal action against Paramount Studios for allegedly withholding revenue. Wiseman claims she has not received any compensation since selling her film rights in 2002 for $400,000. She also criticized Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay and starred in the movie, for not showing any support. Wiseman's lawyers want to audit Paramount's books, and she hopes to be compensated for her work that has "changed our culture and changed the zeitgeist."
