Chennai's Political and Infrastructural Developments: A Recap
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state-of-the-art integrated terminal building at Chennai airport, which is expected to increase the airport's passenger capacity from 23 million to 30 million per year. The new terminal, spread across 2.20 lakh square metres, is equipped with 108 immigration counters and incorporates traditional features like Kolam and sarees in its design. The terminal has been built using eco-friendly technology to reduce carbon footprint.
