Passengers Help Subdue Pilot During Medical Emergency, Safe Boston Landing
An Air Canada flight from Newark to Halifax diverted to Boston after the captain suffered a medical emergency; the first officer took control and landed the aircraft safely as several passengers and a registered nurse restrained the pilot for about 40 minutes, before responders met the plane and the captain was taken to a hospital. The flight carried 61 passengers, and Air Canada says it is arranging alternate travel for those affected.
