Ukraine successfully intercepts Russian hypersonic missile with US Patriot defense system.
Ukraine used newly acquired American Patriot defense systems to shoot down a Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile over Kyiv, marking the first known time Ukraine has been able to intercept one of Moscow’s most modern missiles. The Kinzhal missile was launched by a MiG-31K aircraft from Russian territory and was shot down with a Patriot missile. This week marked the first time Ukraine is known to have used America’s Patriot defense systems.
