"Omega-3 Supplements May Boost Depression Recovery in Teens"
A study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders suggests that omega-3 supplements can enhance the treatment of depression in adolescents when used in conjunction with the antidepressant Paxil (paroxetine). The research, conducted on Chinese adolescents, showed that those who received omega-3 supplements experienced greater improvements in depressive symptoms, cognitive function, and memory compared to those treated with Paxil alone. Despite the promising results, the study's open-label design, where participants were aware of their treatment, could introduce bias, indicating a need for further research with placebo-controlled trials.
