State AGs Secure Settlements Over Unauthorized Mortgage Withdrawals and Data Breach
New Hampshire has reached a $10 million settlement with a payment processing company, ACI Worldwide, after an error led to unauthorized withdrawals from the accounts of thousands of mortgage holders. The error affected 2,534 individuals, causing some to overdraw on their accounts and incur fees for insufficient funds. New Hampshire will receive $42,788 in the settlement, and impacted customers have received restitution through ACI and other related settlements. Affected individuals can submit a claim form for a class-action settlement by November 13, 2023.
