Bloodied suspect charged in stabbing death of Virginia woman at DC hotel.
A man with a criminal history, who had been released from jail while awaiting trial on a separate larceny charge, has been charged with the brutal killing of a woman at the Ivy City Hotel in Northeast Washington. The victim, Christy Bautista, was found dead from 30 stab wounds. Police do not believe Bautista and the suspect, George Sydnor Jr., knew each other. Sydnor had missed court dates in both D.C. and Prince George’s County, and authorities had sought warrants for his arrest. Homicides in D.C. were up by 30 percent compared with the same time in 2022.
