Bystander Helps Recover Stolen Persian Puppet Show Gear
A U-Haul truck containing nearly 500 handmade shadow puppets and other props for the Persian epic "Song of the North" was stolen in San Francisco. The theft jeopardized the show's upcoming performance in Seattle. However, a resident spotted the truck and alerted the police, leading to its recovery. While some items were damaged or destroyed, at least 200 puppets were missing. The creator of the show, Hamid Rahmanian, forgave the thieves and expressed his disappointment that art was not valued by them.
