Stolen Suni Lee bust found in St. Paul apartment; mother and son charged
A St. Paul mother, Tamica Bazinet, 44, and her son, Dashawn Caradine, 22, are charged with receiving stolen property after a bronze bust of Olympic gymnast Sunisa (Suni) Lee was found in their east-side apartment during a shots-fired response. Police recovered the statue along with a handgun and ammunition; Bazinet said she found the bust in bushes about a month ago, while Caradine claimed he knew it had been in the apartment for about a month. The statue is to be reinstalled at Phalen Regional Park; no motive or thief is identified.
