Tailei Qi, a second-year doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a UNC faculty member. Qi, described as quiet and nice, was apprehended and is currently being investigated. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
Will Knauth, a Ph.D. student at Columbia and a decorated NCAA Division III athlete, is set to play in his first professional golf tournament at the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship on a sponsor exemption after winning the 2022 Byron Nelson Award. Knauth, who is also a concert violinist and pilot, got into golf by accident and learned mostly from YouTube and Golf Channel. Despite not being a prodigy, he had the lowest scoring average in Division III last year and won twice. Knauth's goal this week is not to prove he's a great golfer, but to find something that puts a little bit of uniqueness to what he's trying to do.
