Suri Cruise to headline a modern Shakespeare adaptation at CMU ahead of Edinburgh Fringe

Suri Cruise, 20, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, will star in a 90-minute modern take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream called 'Midsummer!' at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, with two July performances before the UK debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2026; she is majoring in musical theater at CMU, after previously being linked to fashion, and has appeared in staged readings as part of her college theater work.

Will Knauth, a Ph.D. student at Columbia and a decorated NCAA Division III athlete, is set to play in his first professional golf tournament at the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship on a sponsor exemption after winning the 2022 Byron Nelson Award. Knauth, who is also a concert violinist and pilot, got into golf by accident and learned mostly from YouTube and Golf Channel. Despite not being a prodigy, he had the lowest scoring average in Division III last year and won twice. Knauth's goal this week is not to prove he's a great golfer, but to find something that puts a little bit of uniqueness to what he's trying to do.
