A 19-year-old woman allegedly assaulted three TSA officers at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, resulting in two officers being hospitalized. The checkpoint was temporarily closed and the woman was arrested by Phoenix police. The reason for the altercation is unclear. TSA condemned the attack and expressed gratitude for their employees' commitment to protecting the public.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport officials are asking travelers to use alternate entrances, such as the 44th Street entrance, to avoid heavy traffic caused by multiple road closures near the airport. Those dropping off travelers can use the 44th Street PHX Sky Train Station or come in from the west side. Travelers can also board the Phoenix Sky Train at the 24th Street discount parking and rental car area. As always, travelers are advised to give themselves plenty of time while coming to the airport.
