Reese Witherspoon and Mediawan Acquire Hello Sunshine from Candle Media
Reese Witherspoon and Paris-based content group Mediawan have agreed to acquire Hello Sunshine from Candle Media. The deal returns the production company to Witherspoon’s control while integrating it into Mediawan’s expanding global studio network. Co-founder Seth Rodsky will join the new board alongside Witherspoon and Mediawan representatives. The acquisition follows a period of financial pressure on Candle Media, which had previously valued Hello Sunshine at nearly $1 billion. Mediawan’s CEO Pierre-Antoine Capton emphasized that the move preserves Hello Sunshine’s creative independence while providing greater resources and scale. This is the latest in a series of high-profile acquisitions by Mediawan, which already includes Chernin Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s Plan B, and See-Saw Films.
