LEGO has unveiled four new Donkey Kong adventure playsets, expanding the LEGO Super Mario collection. The sets include Donkey Kong's Tree House Expansion Set, Diddy Kong's Mine Cart Ride Expansion Set, Dixie Kong's Jungle Jam Expansion Set, and a smaller Rambi the Rhino Expansion set. The sets will be available from August 1st and will need to be combined with one of the starter sets to be used like a Mario course.
Lego has released new Sonic The Hedgehog playsets that allow fans to send Sonic spinning through miniature levels. The flagship $100 set includes classic foes, a two-part Dr. Robotnik boss, and forest creatures to rescue. The $35 set includes a launcher, arch, ramp, and extra rings. The $40 set includes Tails, his Workshop, and Tornado Plane. The $50 set includes Amy, Tails, and a crab enemy on Animal Rescue Island. Lego's recent releases, including Indiana Jones sets, have been well-received.
Lego is releasing new Sonic the Hedgehog playsets, including Sonic’s Speed Sphere Challenge, which comes with a speed sphere launcher to recreate the feel of playing through a 2D Sonic level. Other sets include Tail’s Workshop and Tornado Plane, and Amy’s Animal Rescue Island. The sets are designed for mix-and-match scenarios and range in price from $35 to $50. Lego has previously made playsets based on Mario, Overwatch, Minecraft, and more.
