
Secret Service shooting near National Mall injures suspect; bystander grazed
A uniformed Secret Service officer fired at a man near the Washington Monument after he reportedly pulled a firearm, wounding the suspect and causing a juvenile bystander to suffer a non-life-threatening graze wound; the suspect was taken to a hospital and a weapon was recovered. The DC Police will lead the investigation into the use of force, and streets around 15th Street SW and Independence Avenue were closed during the response.
