Exchange Online to drop legacy TLS for POP/IMAP from July 2026
Microsoft says it will block legacy TLS 1.0/1.1 for POP and IMAP in Exchange Online starting July 2026, requiring TLS 1.2 or newer. Most users are unaffected since modern clients already use TLS 1.2+, but legacy devices or apps may stop connecting and must be updated. Customers should verify their POP/IMAP clients and embedded devices support TLS 1.2+ and disable legacy endpoints before the July deadline.
