Michigan State Police released details on how an 8-year-old boy who went missing in a remote Michigan park was able to survive for two days before being rescued. The boy covered himself with branches and leaves for warmth, ate clean snow for hydration, and waited for rescuers to find him. He was found under a log about two miles away from his family's campsite. The search involved over 150 personnel and nine K9s. The Hurley School District expressed gratitude to all those who helped bring the boy back safely.

"Michigan Search Efforts Continue for Missing Boy and Mother"

The search for an 8-year-old boy who went missing on a camping trip with his family in Michigan's Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park over the weekend has entered its third day. The boy, Nante Niemi, disappeared on the Pinkerton trail around 1 p.m. Saturday. Numerous agencies are helping with the search, and the Hurley School District is ready with two buses of volunteers waiting to help search. The Iron County Sheriff's Office in Hurley, Wisconsin, where the boy is from, posted about the search as well and said deputies are on standby.
