Nintendo Switch Port of WipEout-Style Racer Canceled Due to Unity's Controversial Changes
The developer of the WipEout-style racer, BallisticNG, has canceled its planned Nintendo Switch port due to controversy and upheaval surrounding the game engine Unity. Unity's recent changes to its Runtime Fee policy, which would have charged developers for game downloads, caused confusion and backlash. Additionally, the perceived requirement from Nintendo to run Switch games on newer versions of Unity raised concerns for the developer. As a result, BallisticNG has decided to cancel the Switch port and is now evaluating other engines for future projects.
