LA School Workers Demand Fair Wages, Shut Down Schools in Strike
Rep. Adam Schiff has expressed his support for the tens of thousands of service workers in the Los Angeles Unified School District who have gone on strike, demanding an end to "poverty wages." The workers, represented by the Service Employees International Union Local 99, include cafeteria workers, bus drivers, custodians, special education assistants, and others. Schiff spoke at a rally in Koreatown, saying that the workers should be paid a "decent wage" and that their low wages put them at risk of homelessness.
