Tom Morello has announced the inaugural Power To The People festival for October 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, billed as a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action. The lineup already includes Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Joan Baez, and Serj Tankian, with acts like Dave Matthews, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, The Linda Lindas, and more, plus artwork/DJ by Shepard Fairey. A portion of proceeds will support VoteRiders and HeadCount, with 100% of net VIP proceeds donated; tickets go on sale May 30 at 10am ET. Morello frames the festival as a day of music that empowers activism and communal action.
