Strand Bookstore to Pay $1.48M to Settle PPP Loan Dispute Involving Senator’s Wife
The Strand Bookstore agreed to pay $1,482,560 to settle federal claims that it improperly received a second-draw Paycheck Protection Program loan. The settlement stems from a certification by owner Nancy Bass Wyden, wife of Senator Ron Wyden, that no member of Congress or their spouse held a controlling interest in the business, a claim prosecutors deemed false.
