WRX Stages a Comeback as Subaru Rebounds on Inventory
Subaru’s WRX sales have rebounded after a production shuffle that prioritized the Forester, with August sales rising to 1,778 (vs. 611 a year ago) and year-to-date up about 37.7% to 10,324; the base WRX returned at $32,495 with more equipment, though performance updates remain limited and a limited-slip differential is still not offered. The car continues to use the 271-hp 2.4-liter turbo, and Subaru has teased STI variants in Japan, though concrete upgrades have yet to materialize.
