In Ohio, a smoke shop manager, Tony Thacker, was indicted on multiple charges, including felonious assault, after fatally shooting a teenage robbery suspect. Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers warned that robbers should "expect to be shot" at retail stores, emphasizing zero tolerance for retail thefts. Thacker, who was not legally permitted to have a firearm, shot at suspects fleeing a break-in at his store. Another suspect, Amontae Carter, faces murder and burglary charges.
