Greenfield's Last Ditch Bar Announces Closure Amid Financial Strain and Mask Controversy Fallout
Last Ditch, a lesbian bar in Greenfield, Massachusetts, has announced a soft closure after facing severe financial strain and national controversy over its decision to make masks optional on Saturdays. The venue, which opened in 2025, is seeking new owners or a full sale for assets valued at $70,000. While pre-booked events will continue through winter, the bar is closed to walk-in traffic. The closure follows a viral media storm that generated over $216,000 in donations but failed to prevent the departure of two original owners and the collapse of its cooperative model.
